Construction simulator 2015 also had this mappable button in controls, while the vehicles there were not supposed to have a handbrake (well, one Escort Vehicle might, but it was added in a later DLC).Īs for Bus Stop Brake - I don't know. I suppose "handbrake" in the game is just a mistake or additional non-realistic feature for those who want to drive like a car. I knew all that already (and used to watch that guy while learning about trucks), but the video is still good to watch. Also I would appreciate if someone familiar with real bus driving mentioned the correct procedure for stopping at a bus stop (moments like holding brakes and/or using parking brake and/or changing gear to neutral, e.t.c.) and for temporarily leaving the driver's seat. Perhaps I should simply unbind those keys?ģ.
#How to start your bus in bus simulator 18 how to
I am trying to play as realistic as possible, so need to know how to set things up. Do real buses have a Handbrake (not Parking Brake)? I know trucks don't. Though the cab doesn't seem to have a lever for it. In the game Handbrake seems to be an extra braking system that works similar to a usual car's handbrake (and kind of the only way to get "harsh braking" complain). Is it realistic? Am I supposed to use the button for Bus Stop Brake somehow?Ģ. Bus Stop Brake is automatically active when you open the doors, and automatically turns off when you accelerate after closing the doors.

There is a key mapping for Bus Stop Brake, but pressing it doesn't seem to do anything. What I am not sure about is "handbrake" and "bus stop brake". I learned quite a lot about trucks, so understand how main brakes (pedal), parking brake and retarder work. Could someone help me understand a few things about braking systems in the game?
